Who should attend?
Clinicians who work with people with eating disorders

Educational Objectives:

To be able to evaluate the evidence about treatment of eating disorders.
To be able to synthesise a case formulation.
To be able to understand the biological and psychological aspects of abnormal eating.
To be able to assess risk and plan appropriate management.

Course Description:

This course will include a mixture of seminar based presentation of theory and evidence, with time for discussion.
First a summary of evidence based practice will be described.
This will be followed by case descriptions. There will be small group work to discuss the formulation and produce plans of treatment.
Next the theoretical basis of the abnormal eating behaviours will be described. Practical demonstrations and case descriptions of how to support eating will be followed.
Finally there will be a discuss of how to assess and manage risk
