Diabetes - Level A Competency Based Training for Dietitians

Purpose: To deliver on the Level A, DMEG competencies 5, 7, 10 relating to clinical diabetes management and education of people with diabetes
Learning Outcomes:

To improve knowledge and understanding around the contemporary dietary management of all types of diabetes

To increase knowledge and the practical application in the medical management of diabetes
-
To develop an awareness of national and regional issues relating to diabetes
Audience: Any Band 5 or 6 dietitians for whom diabetes is not their speciality.
All HPC registered dietitians employed within the NHS have free access to this course.
Other dietitians wishing to access this course should contact the CPD AHP Centre for details of registration fees.
Method: 1 day
Participants will be expected to have read the DMEG Level A, competencies 5, 7 & 10 prior to the course. The competencies are on the BDA website. Participants will be given a self directed learning tool to complete after the course.
