
The INDI was delighted to be invited to take part in the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Children and Youth Affairs meeting in Dáil Eireann on Wednesday 30th May 2018, at 9.30am. The committee are looking at the issue of Childhood Obesity and a number of groups who had made submissions were asked to attend. Jennifer Feighan CEO and Louise Reynolds, Communications Manager represented INDI and attended the committee meeting. INDI made the case for more dietetic posts to ensure that the many dietitian led interventions are rolled out to all those who need to avail of these vital services all over the country. There was a lot of discussion around nutrition through the lifecycle with a particular emphasis on breastfeeding and the importance of improving our breastfeeding initiation rates.
