450g minced steak
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
8 tsps balsamic vinegar
4 tsps honey
1 tbsp olive oil
225g cherry tomatoes
110g black olives, stoned
150ml passata
150ml red wine
Handful of basil
Salt and Pepper

Beef Cooked the Italian Way Directions

  1. 1. Marinate the mince in the garlic, vinegar and honey for at least 30 minutes
    2. Drain the meat from the marinade and add to hot oil in a pan.
    3. Cook over a high heat for 10-15 minutes, until the meat becomes crispy and is almost
    cooked. Pour the remainder of the marinade over the top.
    4. Add the tomatoes, black olives, passata and red wine to the pan.
    5. Simmer gently for 4-5 minutes, until the sauce thickens. If you prefer more sauce, add a
    little more passata and red wine.
    6. Finally, add the basil. Heat through, season, and serve (with cous cous/crusty bread/oven
    roasted vegetables- aubergines, peppers and courgettes)
